Intro to Water-Based Fire Protection

Course Description: During two intensive days of training, you will gain an appreciation for the various components used in automatic fire protection and fixed water spray systems. The agenda consists of modules on the sprinkler industry, hydraulics, wet, dry, preaction, and deluge systems. Students will have the opportunity to observe two fire demonstrations, as well as a water spray demonstration featuring the various sprinklers discussed in the program. The curriculum of this training seminar is designed so that students with different backgrounds and experience will benefit. An optional third day, for those interested, covers in-depth instruction on a variety of topics, which change from month to month.

Who Should Attend: Anyone who requires an understanding of the fire protection industry and automatic sprinkler systems, especially fire protection contractors, designers, installers, distributors, AHJs, consultants, and insurance representatives.

Prerequisites: None, although a background in fire protection will maximize the participant's experience

Duration: 2 days, with an optional third day on advanced topics.

Course Fee: Free of Charge (if IACET CEUs are required, CEU fee is $350 for 2 days, $525 for 3 days)

Credits Awarded: 1.4 CEUs for 2 days, 2.0 CEUs for 3 days
